SUMMARY:Victory4Kidz: Youth Healthcare Career Expo open registration
DESCRIPTION:The Youth Healthcare Career Expo that was held in March 2023 was a huge success. The event received positive feedback from teachers\, principals\, and exhibitors. The expo aimed to educate students and young adults about healthcare careers\, and it exceeded its goal by providing insightful information and opportunities for networking. The event featured a range of exhibitors who represented different areas of healthcare\, including medical practitioners\, hospitals\, clinics\, and universities. Students had the chance to meet with healthcare professionals\, learn about healthcare education and career paths\, and participate in interactive workshops. \nThe feedback received from attendees was overwhelmingly positive\, with many expressing their gratitude for the opportunity to be a part of the expo. Overall\, the Youth Healthcare Career Expo played a crucial role in providing young people with valuable information and resources that could help them make informed decisions about their future careers in the healthcare industry. Due to the success of our first Youth Healthcare Career Expo\, we decided to host another one on October 8\, 9\, and 10\, 2024. \nClick here to register to be a 2025 exhibitor.

SUMMARY:Trauma-Informed Nutrition Security Training registration closes
DESCRIPTION:The Indiana Department of Health\, Office of Minority Health invites you to a training opportunity facilitated by Leah’s Pantry\, a national leader in trauma-informed nutrition. In this interactive training\, participants will explore the meaning of food in our lives and the potential impacts of adversity on the relationship between individuals\, communities\, and their access to and relationship with food. Additionally\, the training will outline trauma-informed strategies for creating person and community-centered programs and interventions. \nBy the end of this training\, participants will be able to: \n\nExplain the connection between toxic stress\, chronic disease\, and food.\nDefine and describe the basic process and principles of a trauma-informed approach and identify how these principles may be applied to their work.\nDescribe ways to build a safe and trustworthy environment to discuss food\, nutrition\, and health.\nDiscuss ways to reframe and respond to difficult behaviors in a trauma-informed way.\n\nThe training will include approximately three hours of self-paced work spread throughout the training (e.g.\, videos\, activities\, readings) and three ninety- minute Zoom webinars.
