SUMMARY:Medical Assistant (MA) Certificate Program | January 2025 Cohort starts
DESCRIPTION:This program is aimed at providing comprehensive education focused on procedures for assisting the physician and nurse with patient/client care. Instruction includes an introduction to medical assisting\, certification requirements\, and orientation to the laboratory; it progresses through theory and techniques utilized by the medical assistant. Coursework includes two terms of intensive classroom and laboratory instruction\, and one term of externship experience. Content includes anatomy and physiology\, applied mathematics\, infection control\, aseptic technique\, pharmacology\, office procedures\, patient/client assessment and education\, nutrition\, inventory\, and equipment maintenance. At program completion\, graduates are awarded a Certificate of Completion.\n\n\n\n\n​ \nPrerequisites: \n\n\nMust be at least 18 years of age \n\n\nSubmission of transcripts to verify high school diploma or equivalency completion \n\n\nPass background screening (for state licensing) \n\n\nComplete a physical examination & 2-step TB screening prior to class start. \n\n\nPass entrance exam \n\n\nOpen availability for classroom and clinical training. \n\n\n​ \nProgram Length: TBD \n​Cost of Attendance: $3500.00 \n​Enrollment Fee: $100 non-refundable and will be applied toward the cost of attendance \n\nLearn More And Apply

SUMMARY:Community Health Worker (CHW) Interviews | February 2025 Cohort
DESCRIPTION:A CHW is a frontline public health worker who is a trusted member of and/or has an unusually close understanding of the community served. This trusting relationship enables the CHW to serve as a liaison/link/intermediary between health/social services and the community to facilitate access to services and improve the quality and cultural competence of service delivery.
